Plasma0 was developed by Paul Proctor, known for NES games such as Pinbot, Wizards & Warriors, R.C. Pro-Am Racing, and much more.
While working freelance for Rareware, before joining the company, Paul created Plasma0. The game was never released, or even heard of until now, and it was never finished either. It works a lot like Jetpaq/Dropzone and could have been a small game created to show Rareware what he was capable of - but at the time of writing not much is known about the game.
Shortly after working on this game, Paul joined Rareware and programmed Wizards and Warriors for the NES.
None of us can recall the reason for it being abandoned. Paul can't actually remember doing this game! Kevin Edwards
The game was rescued off some old dev disks by Kevin Edwards, who also has quite a game development "track record", in 2024 and shown to the public on the Bluesky platform.
Unreleased NES title Plasma0 ( Plasma Nought ) by Paul Proctor when he was a freelancer developer. I managed to recover enough data from Paul's original development disks to patch together a ROM file that worked. Aculab development machine. As you can see it has game play elements from Jetpac.
