I almost passed the chance to obtain this prototype but managed to snag it in the 11th hour. The price was around 110 but I got a little discount and I believe it ended at 100 shipped.

This beta of the game reveals what probably isn't a big secret, but Power Puff Girls, in this build without its final title - it's just called PPG Fighting Game on the backside of the flash cartridge, is actually nothing more than VIS Interactive's previous release called Tom & Jerry Fists of Fury - the game engine is the exact same only the graphics seems to have changed of course.

As the game doesn't feature its title the titlescreen is just a picture of the 3 PPG's with the logo above them.

The game doesn't feature a story and simulator mode like the final release but seems to only include the simulator mode, which by the way only has one PPG and one enemy to choose from.

Playing the game isn't too easy. The computer player often gets stuck and there are invisible holes in the floor which the player can drop down in to. It is also possible to jump off the screen and is this done five times, the game will simply reset.

All in all a pretty cool prototype of Power Puff Girls that even features the music from Tom & Jerry still..... what a rip off and no wonder the game became a rental only in the US - though the game is fairly easy to find CIB, brand new, I guess a lot more carts were manufactured than needed. You should be able to find a copy on ebay for a few bucks.
